Chinoiserie Landscapes

An archival collection bursting with life

Sinomania, or the fascination with all things Chinese, swept across Europe at the close of the 17th century. Within a generation, Chinese wallpaper had become a must-have in almost all grand homes. This encounter between civilizations left an enduring mark on the history of interior decoration.

Through longstanding relationships with antique dealers and museum professionals, we were able to assemble a collection of remarkable Chinoiserie Landscapes Scenic Decors dating from the 18th to the early 19th century. Each of these decors has been given new life through painstaking restoration, and we are pleased to present them together in our Chinoiseries Vol. II – Landscapes Portfolio.

This booklet serves as a valuable reference for heritage renovation projects. Yet the appeal of these designs extends far beyond historic interiors. Their continued relevance in contemporary spaces stems from the same qualities that made them so admired centuries ago: an effortless ability to combine visual richness and depth with lightness and playfulness.
