Persian Safavid Collections

We introduce our Safavid collection.

These patterns are directly inspired by the fabrics found at the Persian court in the 16th and 17th centuries when the Safavid dynasty ruled over Persia.

On the occasion of WOW House London 2023, we presented a set of matching designs to complete our newest scenic wallpaper: “D-Safavid Reverie“.

We named it the “Safavid Golden Harmony”. 

We developed this decor, entirely from Safavid miniatures, mostly of the 17th Century. There are many styles in Persian miniatures but this one shines due to the elegant gaits and costumes of its characters. Here are many recognisable folk tales for the knowing but just Oriental colour and whimsy for the decorator.

The painting is very true to the originals and the Asian features are due to the Turkic origin of the dynasty and nobles at the time. The composition, however, is entirely the work of Dimonah, setting the characters in backgrounds of her choice, so as to give us a Persian fresco.

D-Safavid Reverie is over 30 meters long when printed at 3 meters high. It loops and is available in 5 standard sizes, 2 colorways and printed on 4 different grounds.

D-Safavid Reverie is the masterpiece of our “Safavid Golden Harmony“, and we deloped, for this decor, an assorted ceiling, repeat design wallpapers and furnishing fabrics.

Safavid Boteh (RW927 & RF927)

The first pattern, Safavid Boteh, is comprised of the iconic bending bouquets on a gold background. It is available as fabric (RF927), printed on a mix of linen and cotton, as wallpaper (RW927) and as a ceiling (CE927).

Safavid Golden Stripe (RW928 & RF928)

Presenting a pattern of intertwining cream colored flowers on a golden background with borders alternating between cream and gold, Safavid Golden Stripe is available on wallpaper (RW928) and as a furnishing fabric (RF928), printed on a mix of linen & cotton.

Safavid Wide Stripe (RW929 & RF929)

Presenting a pattern of intertwining cream colored flowers on a golden background with borders alternating between cream and gold, Safavid Wide Stripe is available on wallpaper (RW929) and as a furnishing fabric (RF929), printed on printed on a mix of linen & cotton.

Safavid Wide Stripe Ceiling (CE929)

Safavid Musicians (RW905 & RF905)

Safavid Musicians is inspired by a 17th century Persian fabric representing musicians, dancers and cupbearers.

Available as a furnishing fabric (RF905), printed on a cotton satin, and as wallpaper (RW905).

Safavid Falconers (RW920 & RF920)

Safavid Falconers is a 17th century pattern depicting a falconer and his bird in a field of golden flowers.

It is available as a fabric (RF920), printed on a soft and heavy linen, and also available as wallpaper (RW920).

Safavid Bouquet (RW904 & RF904)

Safavid Bouquet is an early 18th century pattern depicting large floral arrangements in the form of medallions.

It is available as wallpaper (RW904) and also as a furnishing fabric (RF904), printed on a soft and heavy linen.

Safavid Ribbons (RW926 & RF926)

Safavid Ribbons is as striped pattern with intertwining roses, printed as fabric on a linen and cotton ground (RF926) or on NonWoven wallpaper (RW926).
